Description of the missing person
Hadi was twenty-eight years old at the time of his disappearance. He was a bachelor, but he was in a romantic relationship. He worked in his parents’ printing house and he enjoyed hunting and swimming. He also liked listening to music and hymns, and he frequently visited the St. Charbel Monastery. When the war in Lebanon intensified, Hadi wanted to buy a farm in Toulouse but he wasn’t able to because of the lack of consent from his father, who was afraid of Hadi emigrating to France.
Circumstances of the Disappearance
A person came to Hadi’s printing house in Byblos and asked his secretary about him. When Hadi came, the person asked him if his new car was for sale. After Hadi answered that it wasn’t, the person left. Hadi told us that since he had bought his car a week earlier he was suspicious of a white Mercedes that was following him home and on the way to Saydet Martine. He was afraid that someone wanted to steal his car. The family looked for the name of the person who had spoken with Hadi, but they did not find anything. That night, Hadi said that he was going to change his clothes because he was attending a wedding in Douma, but he didn’t go to the wedding. The following day, nobody knew where Hadi was and he’s been missing ever since. Long afterwards, someone told the family that a woman driving a white Mercedes had stopped Hadi on the road to Barbara and put him in the trunk.
