Henriette Haddad was a very smart, dynamic and joyful woman. She was a wife, a mother of four children and a grand-mother of ten. She was very altruistic and caring towards the people she loved, always doing her best to make everybody as happy as possible. If you woke up early in the morning you could be sure she would already be up, preparing the day to come. Henriette was both the pillar, her family relied on, and a very independent woman : running and setting up business projects, driving and traveling a lot. A role model for women at that time... Because of the Civil war, she and her husband, Elias, had to move to North America where three of their four children lived. But every time the situation allowed it, she traveled back to Lebanon, in order to visit people she knew there. On one of these trips, while she was crossing the demarcation line between East and West Beyrouth, she was kidnapped with a relative of her on. Septembre 26, 1985. Since then, her husband Elias and her children kept on looking for her with no success. Elias died in 1991 without knowing where his beloved wife was.
