Description of the missing person
Charbel is the loving husband of Laur and the affectionate father of Ramiz and Rouba (ages 6 and 5 respectively at the time of disappearance).
He had a strong and brave character; was very respectful and enjoyable to be around, and he was also known to be a gentleman. He was a family man but also enjoyed spending time with his friends. He'd often hang out with his close friends to play card games and drink Arak.
Charbel was a hard-working man. His typical day would be to wake up at 6 am, drink his coffee and head to work on his taxi. Around noontime he comes back for lunch and then returns to work till late afternoon. On Sundays, he spends his time with his wife and children.
Circumstances of the Disappearance
On Monday October 3, 1993, Charbel left his house and went to work as usual. However, he never returned home after that. The next day, information reached his wife that Charbel was seen dropping passengers off at the airport and took the route of Cola to return home. On that day, there was a checkpoint for a Lebanese militia stationed there and they were kidnapping people. A couple of months later, it was confirmed that Charbel was kidnapped at that checkpoint.
