Description of the missing person

Kariman was a thirty-year-old mother of two children who worked as a nurse at Gaza Hospital. She liked swimming, reading, learning languages, and traveling. According to her daughter, Kariman was one of the first people in Tyre to buy and drive a car. Whenever she walked around in Tyre, someone would always call out “Kariman,” as her name had a nice ring to it, and everyone knew who she was. She was an ambitious person who aspired to finish her graduate studies. She was engaged in numerous humanitarian and social causes, especially related to the war that was going on in her country. What she wanted most was to ensure a stable and peaceful life for her children.

Circumstances of the Disappearance

On a hot day in June 1986, Kariman headed from her house in Sidon to her parents’ place in Beirut, but she didn’t arrive at her destination, where the streets were full of checkpoints and militants. On the day that Kariman went missing, she took a taxi instead of driving her car. Nobody has even been able to find her belongings or jewelry.
