Description of the missing person
Saeed was sixteen years old when he disappeared. He had left school when his father passed away and he was searching for work. Saeed’s father’s death made him a mature person for his age, as he was the middle child among his siblings. He was already working during the summer holidays. Despite the fact that he was small, Saeed hoped to join the army and he had already prepared the paperwork to enter the commandos. He was in love with a girl from Zgharta.
Circumstances of the Disappearance
Saeed was heading from Zgharta to a taxi stand in Beirut. The road had been cut off, so they had to take the road through Bhamdoun, where they were stopped at a checkpoint by one of the armed groups. Saeed was forced out of the car and supposedly taken to Syria. His sister believed that he was at his parents’ place and his parents thought that he was at his sister’s place in the north. They searched for him everywhere and met with the owner of the taxi. Someone from the Miniyeh district told them that Saeed had been a prisoner with him in the “Palestine Branch” prison in Damascus and another prisoner from Tripoli told them that he had seen him in prison as well.
