Description of the missing person

Chahine was a loving and easy going person. He had five brothers and two sisters: Kamal, Walid, Samih, Samir, Tarek, Samia and Nathira. He respected his elders and loved sitting with the elderly and talking to them. He led a quiet life. He used to work as a hairdresser and owned a Salon in Ein el Remmeneh. He loved his job which he was doing for the past 10 years. He enjoyed to give cut his friend’s hairs. He was not politically affiliated.

Circumstances of the Disappearance

Chahine was on his way with two of his friends – Farid Koukash and Ayman Selim - to Beirut. Farid was behind the wheel. He was going there to pick up his mother and his siblings for them to spend the weekend in the Azounieh. Meanwhile, Chahine was going there to invite his uncle and cousins to his wedding in the weekend that follows. On their way, from Azounieh to Beirut, they were stopped at a check point in Bhamdoun, according to witnesses. It was a Friday, at around 10 or 11 am on a day in June of 1982. This was the last time they were ever seen.
